Radar Men of the Moon is a 12-part serial that introduced the Sky Marshal of the Universe, Commando Cody, who uses a sonic-powered rocket backpack to fly. (Like you do.) In Radar Men of the Moon, when the U.S. finds itself under attack from a mysterious force, Cody correctly surmises that the Earth is coming under attack from our own Moon.
